In the past, we have provided an easy mechanism for OnlyMe users to update the program to the newest version. There has been no charge for this.
We have been asked why the current version of OnlyMe has not been provided for free to current licensees.
Since its first release in late 1998, OnlyMe has been "smoothed out" and improved. Each version has included many details designed not only to make it work better, but to keep distribution and support costs down.
In the past we felt that it was easier and cheaper to support one, current, "experienced" version of the program. To do this, it was most simple to simply upgrade every user to the newest version.
In the PalmOS software market, free upgrades have been quite common. But, free upgrades sometimes can be likened to getting a free, new car every year.
OSv5 brings with it a step back in time for programs such as OnlyMe. In many key ways, OnlyMe is a new program.
For this reason, we felt that it was time to bring our upgrade policy in line with a more realistic method of operations.
